Happy Wheels has 80 achievements, a figure the Steam appdetails API and the SteamDB stat list for app 4705510 both confirm. They exist only in the Steam release — the browser version has no achievements at all.

Guide note: names below are drawn from the community achievement tables and SteamDB’s stat list. Patch 1.99.1 changed one achievement after launch, and that change is marked. If an entry differs from your in-game list, trust your game.

The route that actually works

Do not start by farming counters. The achievement set contains several overlapping background grinds — total deaths, limbs lost, distance travelled, impalements, decapitations — and almost everything you do advances them. Farming them early is wasted effort.

Work in this order:

  1. Beat featured levels with each required character.
  2. Do the one-off stunt and victory-condition achievements.
  3. Handle the community and editor achievements.
  4. Attempt the named speed challenges.
  5. Finish the remaining winnable featured levels.
  6. Only then grind the counters that are still short.

Step 1 is the highest-value block, because those runs also move you through the featured-level catalogue and feed every passive counter at the same time.

Eleven achievements each require beating three featured levels with a specific character, plus one for beating all winnable featured levels:

Achievement Requirement
Fully Mobile Three featured levels with Wheelchair Guy
The Future is Now Three featured levels with Segway Guy
Quality Time Three featured levels with Irresponsible Dad
Masterful Shopper Three featured levels with Effective Shopper
Ride or Die Three featured levels with Moped Couple
I Had a Job To Do Three featured levels with Lawnmower Man
Adventure of a Lifetime Three featured levels with Explorer Guy
Naughty List Expanding Three featured levels with Santa Claus
I Cannot Make Friends Three featured levels with Pogostick Man
Mother of the Year Three featured levels with Irresponsible Mom
Success in the Face of Turbulence Three featured levels with Helicopter Guy
Purpose Fulfilled Beat all winnable featured levels

Because each character achievement only needs three levels, pick the easiest featured levels and grind them per character rather than trying to be efficient about the whole catalogue at once.

Stunt and vehicle achievements

These are one-off executions, and they are far quicker to knock out individually than to hope for by accident.

Flips (while on a vehicle):

  • Arrogant — a frontflip
  • Unnecessary — a backflip
  • Ostentatious — a double frontflip
  • Redundant — a double backflip

Do the singles first. The doubles are a timing step up rather than a different skill.

Movement and character-specific:

  • Speed is Key — reach maximum speed
  • Lonely at the Top — pogo 10 metres high
  • Jetsetter — hover for 10 seconds with the rocket chair
  • Power Move — eject, frontflip, and reconnect to the motorised shopping cart
  • Autopilot — carry yourself with your own magnet (Helicopter Guy)

Victory-condition achievements

These are the interesting ones, because they require finishing a level in a specific state:

  • Alternative Medicine — finish with 20 arrows in your body
  • Lethargic — finish without moving
  • Forget My Past — finish after being impaled by a spike
  • At What Cost? — finish before bleeding out (made more forgiving in patch 1.99.2)
  • I Do Things My Way — finish without limbs
  • Upper Body Strength — finish on a Segway without feet
  • He’d Have Wanted This — finish as a mourning father
  • My Kids Don’t Call — finish as a mourning mother
  • Ready To Mingle — finish as a widower
  • Self-Made — finish after losing your employees

Pick one short, safe featured level and run these conditions on it. An easy level with a benign finish line is the right place for “finish without limbs” — not a boss level.

Combat and hazard achievements

  • Park Safety Award — defeat Gravelord Tito
  • Gluten Intolerance — smash the biscuits
  • Not Like This — death by toilet
  • Excalibur — throw a sword into someone’s head
  • You Forgot This! — throw someone’s head
  • Stick Around, Kid — harpoon the son’s head to a wall
  • Stay Close, Son — harpoon father and son together
  • Wrong Tool for the Job / Smoothie Deluxe / Voracious / User Error — mow 100 torsos, 100 fruits, 100 brains, and your own head
  • Downsizing — 100 elves die
  • It Blew My Butt Apart — the named achievement

The mower group is worth batching: all four use Lawnmower Man, and a purpose-built community level with fruit and bodies in a line will clear them quickly.

Community and editor achievements

  • Judgement / Curator — rate 1 and 10 levels
  • Collector — favourite 5 levels
  • Shared Experience — save a replay
  • Teacher — save a replay of yourself beating a level you created
  • Professional Playtester — complete 10 editor playtests
  • SpeedRunner / Hostile Takeover / Elitist — submit record times on 1, 5 and 25 levels with at least 10 competitors

Important: the achievement for publishing your first level no longer exists. Patch 1.99.1 (23 September 2026) replaced it with Complete 10 Editor Playtests, specifically to stop the flood of levels published only to trigger it.

Long-term grind achievements

Do these last. Every one of them advances while you do everything else:

Achievement Requirement
Promising Start / Undeterred / Dauntless Die 10 / 100 / 1,000 times
Minor Setback / Just Several Flesh Wounds / Unrestrained Lose 50 / 500 / 5,000 limbs
Enlightened Get decapitated 500 times
Get Back Out There Get impaled 500 times
It Wasn’t My Fault Smash your vehicle 500 times
Damn It End your bloodline 500 times
Free Your Minds Crush 1,000 heads
Sausage Party / Disperse Love / Spineless Expose 1,000 intestines / hearts / vertebrae
Perseverance Restart a level 20 times
Nothing Personal Cause 5,000 deaths
Baby Steps / Adventurer / Oh My Legs Travel 10 / 100 / 1,000 km
Just Dabbling / Immersed / Omniscient Play 10 / 100 / 1,000 levels
All I Care About is Gold Collect 100 tokens
Express Delivery Beat Happy Green Hills in under 10 seconds
Opportunities, Not Obstacles Beat Obstacle Course? in under 20 seconds

The two named speed challenges are skill rather than grind, and they are the pair most worth practising deliberately.

A caution about achievement-farming levels

The 1.99.1 patch exists because the community flooded the level browser with levels made purely to trigger achievements. Those levels still exist and some are genuinely useful for the counters. But they also mean the level browser’s top-rated lists have been polluted, so use the date filter and the featured list when you want to play something real.
